The Cheyenne Depot Museum is the steward of the Historic UPRR Depot, a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1886 by the Union Pacific Railroad, it is the last remaining grand railroad station on the transcontinental route, designed by famed architect Henry Van Brunt. Visit the museum to learn about the history of Cheyenne, the Transcontinental Railroad, and see the beloved narrow gauge UC&N Model Railroad built by Harry W. Brunk.

Mission
To celebrate the spirit, teamwork, optimism and sacrifices of the men and women who built and are the life of the Union Pacific Railroad, the Cheyenne Depot and the City of Cheyenne.

Vision
To provide a sensory, emotional and historical journey into the perennial and enduring allure of the railroad. Visitors will leave infused with a deepened understanding of those who built and traveled the transcontinental rails, an understanding of the evolution of the modern rail industry, and a fresh and personal identification with the inspiring railroad story.

The Depot Museum and Plaza are the cultural and entertainment hub of Downtown Cheyenne, striving to provide educational programming and events in conjunction with the City of Cheyenne that enrich the community. We thank you for your support and invite you to view our calendar of events!
The Cheyenne Depot Museum is a private 501c(3) nonprofit organization working to maintain the National Historic Landmark structure known as the Historic Union Pacific Cheyenne Depot. We receive no City, State, or Federal operational funding, and as such rely on the support of our members, event patrons, museum visitors, and contributors to help generate funding to ensure the future of the building. Please contact us to learn about ways you can preserve this treasure for future generations.

We are located at 121 West 15th Street in Downtown Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001. We are one block south of the Lincoln Hwy (Lincolnway) at the south end of Capitol Avenue.
Thank you to the Union Pacific Community Ties Giving Program Grant that funded updates in the Shops and Yards and The Only Way to Travel sections of the museum.
We appreciate the support of the Wyoming Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works with donors to support the charitable causes they care most about.

General operating support funds have been made possible by the American Rescue Plan of 2021, and made available to The Cheyenne Depot Museum by the National Endowment for the Humanities and Wyoming Humanities.
