Schedule

- 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Check-in for ticket holders; Museum open for tours at 9 AM.

- 3:00 PM: Ticket holders board the trolleys for the Steam Shop and Roundhouse.

- 5:00 PM: Board the trolleys and return to the Cheyenne Depot Museum;

Museum is open at 9 AM for tours.

Ticket prices are $40 per person with a $2.50 processing fee.

General information for future tours:

Take advantage of this rare opportunity for a guided tour of the Union Pacific Steam Shop! There were just twenty-five of the massive Big Boy steam engines ever built, and only 8 remain today. Now’s your chance to visit the Steam Shop where Big Boy # 4014 is housed. Public access to the Steam Shop is only offered a few times per year. These tours include admission to the Cheyenne Depot Museum and transport to the Steam Shop on the Cheyenne Street Railway trolleys. Ticket prices are $40 per person with a $2.50 processing fee. 

 

Tour begins at the Cheyenne Depot Museum - 121 W. 15th St.

• *Tickets should be purchased in advance as they generally sell out.

• *Tour passengers are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Wearing a jacket is recommended. Hardhats, safety glasses, and earplugs will be provided at the Steam Shop. Work may be happening while tours are in progress.

• *We suggest bringing a water bottle.
